ABOUT JOSH
Hello, I’m Josh Tyhurst, the Owner and Broker here at McCloud Realty.
I am the owner and broker of both McCloud Realty and Jefferson State Realty, with nearly 10 years of experience as a licensed Realtor. My expertise extends well beyond daily real estate sales. I have completed new parcel maps and navigated various aspects of development, including land use, zoning, and regulations related to property development. This experience allows me to assist my clients with the unique complexities that often arise in real estate transactions.
Over the years, I have brokered multimillion-dollar commercial and hospitality transactions, though my primary focus remains residential real estate sales in McCloud. As both a resident and a generational member of this community, I understand its nuances and the intricacies of the local market. I have guided clients through everything from small vacant land purchases to listing and selling custom homes.
I maintain a strong network of local tradespeople to support my clients’ needs, along with a wealth of local knowledge to help newcomers feel at home. As a broker, I also mentor the agents under my license, helping them grow in all aspects of real estate. This mentorship not only supports their success but also strengthens my own skills, as teaching is an excellent way to stay sharp on regulatory changes in our industry.
With over 300 closed transactions and more than $50 million in sales volume, I bring the experience and results clients can count on. Year after year, I rank among the top producers in our MLS, not just by numbers, but by delivering exceptional service and outcomes. As the owner of two truly independent, locally owned brokerages, I’m free from corporate agendas. Every dollar you invest by working with us stays in our community, fueling our local economy and strengthening the place we call home.
Before entering real estate, I founded, operated, and branded a small natural spring water company that Linn and I successfully scaled and sold. Growing up as the son of a local building contractor, I learned early how homes are built and what makes them last. After purchasing and renovating several homes and working in construction and maintenance throughout my 20s, I developed a natural ability to spot both a home’s potential and its flaws—and explain them to clients in a way that’s clear and approachable.
I attended local Siskiyou County schools as a youth and have lived in both Humboldt and Marin counties before ultimately returning to set down roots in McCloud.
Outside of real estate, you’ll find me exploring nature as an avid hiker, finding both adventure and peace in our local wilderness. My wife, Linn, who is also my business partner, and I enjoy traveling and visiting our national parks. Our family life revolves around our two dogs, Jada and Ziggy, who often join us on our outdoor adventures.
ABOUT LINN
Hello, I'm Linn Tyhurst, the Owner and Realtor here at McCloud Realty!
After growing up in rural Humboldt County and spending many years on the North Coast and in Marin, I was thrilled to make the mountains my home. For 15 years, I visited the Mount Shasta area regularly, falling more in love with it each time. Now, after nearly a decade of living here full-time, I deeply appreciate everything this region offers, from its charming small towns to the endless outdoor adventures.
In my nearly 10 years as a Realtor in Siskiyou County, I’ve been part of more than 300 successful sales, representing both buyers and sellers. I work closely with my husband and business partner, Josh, who is the Broker of our brokerages. Together, we combine our strengths to provide exceptional service to every client.
Real estate runs in my blood, I was raised by a Realtor and a builder, which gave me an early passion for homes, properties, remodeling, and design. Over the years, Josh and I have bought, renovated, and sold multiple homes ourselves, giving us a personal understanding of the process from every angle.
Whether you’re buying your dream home or selling your current one, you can count on me to put your interests first. I believe integrity, honesty, and diligence are the cornerstones of every transaction, and I bring those values to every client relationship.
Outside of real estate, I enjoy time with my rescue dogs, Jada and Ziggy, cycling with friends, and exploring new adventures with Josh. I’m also passionate about giving back, having served on the board of the Siskiyou Humane Society from 2019–2025 and currently serving on the board of Major’s Place, an equine-assisted therapy and learning nonprofit here in McCloud.
"Josh was fantastic! Getting the house I was selling through escrow was unexpectedly challenging for all involved. Josh kept his cool and was extremely patient, but also worked hard and did everything possible to keep everything and everyone together and moving forward. He was even able to pull a rabbit out of his hat to solve a last second snag so I could complete the purchase of another house on time. Excellent job!!"

THE KIDS OF McCLOUD REALTY
Jada and Ziggy are both rescued shelter dogs and the now are loved family members!
They love their lives in the mountains and enjoy swimming, hiking, playing in the snow, chasing each other in the yard and relaxing in the sun or in front of the wood stove.
Jada was adopted from the Contra Costa Animal Shelter in Martinez, CA at about 3 months old, in January 2015. Ziggy was found as a stray in the town of Weed and was in the local Siskiyou Humane Society for about 2 months before we adopted him at about 10 months old, in October 2016.
